1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a tiny text file a website asks your browser to remember. The next time you visit, your browser hands the file back so the site can pick up where you left off. Local storage and session storage work the same way from a privacy standpoint, and this policy covers those too.
2. Essential cookies
These have to be on for the Platform to function. Turning them off breaks core features like signing in.
- Session. Keeps you signed in during a visit so you don’t have to log in on every page.
- Security. Protects against cross site request forgery and confirms requests really came from your browser.
- Preferences. Remembers small UI choices you have made (for example, motion preferences).
3. Analytics cookies
We use Umami for privacy friendly web analytics. Umami is cookieless by default, does not collect personal information, does not share data with third parties, and does not follow you across other sites. We see aggregate page views and referrers, not an identifiable profile of you.
If we ever add a second analytics provider, this page is updated before the provider goes live.
4. Third party cookies
Our payment processor (Stripe) sets its own cookies on the checkout pages it hosts, for fraud prevention and to meet regulatory requirements. Stripe’s use of those cookies is governed by Stripe’s privacy policy. We do not read or share Stripe’s cookie data.
We do not run advertising cookies and we do not sell cookie data to third parties.
5. How to control cookies
Every modern browser lets you view, block, or delete cookies:
- Chrome. Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data.
- Safari. Settings > Privacy > Manage Website Data.
- Firefox. Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge. Settings > Cookies and site permissions.
Blocking essential cookies will break sign in and booking on the Platform. Blocking analytics cookies is fine and has no effect on Platform functionality.
